This month, Let's Get Sketchy have also added this lovely mood board for more inspiration - I really love these colours
And here is my take on the challenge - I decided to be a little different and just slant the photo a little with still keeping the sketch n mind:

My inspiration off the mood board was the greens and the oranges - as well as the leaves and the wooden shelf. Come play along with us at Let's Get Sketchy - would love to see your take on this lovely sketch and mood board :)

I will be back in the middle of March with the next exciting sketch from Let's Get Sketchy :)

White ... with 1 - March 2018 Challenge

Hello there!

And just like that it's March and here in New Zealand that means it's officially day 1 of autumn .... but of course the 1st of the month is a new challenge over at White ... with 1.  It's a really great and fresh colour this month .... CRISPY LETTUCE.
Along with our colour this month, White with 1 have provided an additional mood board, which inspired the design team to come up with their gorgeous ideas.
Does that look so fresh and inspiring?

I took inspiration from all the aspects of the mood board, the frog being the theme of my layout and the butterfly and the lettuce leaves as my decorative approach:

Here is my take on the mood board and the colour of the month. This is my youngest niece, dressed up as a frog. I am not sure what the occassion was that she had to dress up for ... but she is super cute!
I started off using a thick textured paste and mixed it with ink and spread it on my background for texture. Next I used leaves and butterflies from the mintay range of papers and fussy cut these and layered these on the layout.

Come and play along with us at White ... with 1 - hope to see you there!

Let's Get Sketchy - 15 Feb Challenge

Hello again!

And here we are again - the middle of the month and yes you guessed it - Let's Get Sketchy mid-month challenge is up on their blog. Here is the sketch for 15 Feb 2018:
And here is my take on the sketch:
Photo booths tend to be the in thing at parties today - so of course I couldnt resist scrapping these lovely photos of the girls having some fun with some of the props for the photos. Think they are super cool!

I have used paper from the Freckled Fawn range. I think I have had this in my stash for a wee while now, and it is actually part of a Christmas Range (hehehe!).

Pop on over to the Let's Get Sketchy blog and have a look at the wonderful interpretations of the sketch by the rest of design team. I love how one sketch can be produce so many different layouts!

Hope to see your layout up on the blog!

Bye for now,

White with 1 - February reveal

Hello all

Not sure what happened to January - it went so fast, and suddenly it is February - phew!
Really does seem to get faster as one ages, or is it better to say that time flies when you are having fun? I think  I prefer the latter!

Of course with the new month, means a new challenge over at White ... with 1 ... and this month is the gorgeous SIZZLING PINK

Pretty, pretty!

And if that colour is not enough to tempt you, White with 1 has also included a sketch

The sketch is of course entirely optional!

So here is my layout for the month using the sketch:

This colour was so perfect for my daughters last year at school formal ball - matched perfectly. And so did her finger nails and I just love this photo.

I have sprayed some pink ink in the background, and used some of my project life cards for the background. There is also some chippie in there which I have coloured with pink ink.

I just love what the rest of the team have put together too - pop on over to the White .. with 1 blog and have a look.
I look forward to seeing your amazing creations up on the blog this month ...

Let's Get Sketchy - 15 Jan sketch reveal

Well we are half way through January - is it just me, but does each year just seem to go faster and faster?
As it is the 15th of the month - it is Let's Get Sketchy reveal for the next sketch:
And here is my take on the sketch using the gorgeous Pion range - Theodore and Bella:
I just love this range -  and my precious daughter who was about 13/14 months old in these pictures - and who now turns 22 this year! Can't believe they were ever so little. I will always remember people telling me to enjoy the moments with my kids as littlies because they grow up so quickly - and boy there is nothing truer said. In a blink of an eye they are young adults ready to leave the house ad spread their wings.

I certainly hope to see your layouts up on the Let's Get Sketchy blog - click here and all the details on how to enter are on the blog (and have a look at the gorgeous layouts created by the rest of the design team).

See you soon!

Let's Get Sketchy - Jan 2018

Happy New Year - hope your year ahead is a good one!

1 January - and Let's Get Sketchy has a lovely new sketch for the 1st of the month reveal:

I went with a masculine layout, I laid out the papers as per the sketch, and used a dusty attic chipboard zip to make it look like I was pulling the paper open with the zip. I used a stencil and ink to make the splash and stain marks.
Pop on over to the Let's Get Sketchy blog and have a look at the rest of the design team and their gorgeous interpretation of the sketch. - they are also a new design team for 2018.

I would love to see your interpretation of the sketch up on the Let's Get Sketchy blog ....
